These documents explain how to lead a sequence of field experiences, centered either on the theme of Adaptations, Structures, & Function or on the theme of Ecosystems (& Matter).
Each theme write-up includes the following documents:
- Introduction: Read this first. It explains some whys and hows of leading a field experience on the theme, and offers options for planning your sequence.
- Instructor Support: This is background content on the theme, and teaching information for instructors.
- Theme Field Experience Script: This is a script for leading the themed series of field experiences.
Choose which theme you would like to use with your students. We suggest choosing Adaptations, Structures & Function, as it was written specifically to be used as a sequence of individual sessions. If, after completing this entire sequence you want to do the Ecosystems (& Matter) sequence, then go for it.
